4 star hotels near Heathrow.
Monday, May 17th, 2010Halfway betweeen London and Windsor is Heathrow Airport, one of the world’s biggest airports .
Here are some of the finestplaces to stay close to Heathrow Airport. You could take the train into central London, but there are some really great Hotels within easy reach of the airport itself.
Royal Berkshire Ramada Plaza
10 miles west of Heathrow Airport, The Royal Berkshire Ramada Plaza is a beautiful 18th-century red brick mansion set in 15 acres of lovely old fashioned English contryside. This hotel is close to both Ascot racecourse and Windsor Great Park with its historic oak trees, deer park and royal lodges. Why not pop in to Windsor Castle for a final royal experience before your flight?
Sheraton Skyline Hotel Heathrow Hotel
Fast access to the airport combined with a bit of luxury. The Sheraton Skyline Hotel & Conference Centre has 350 of the largest bedrooms in the area.
The Holiday Inn at Brentford Lock
Cool modern hotel to the east of the airport with easy access to Kew Gardens, Syon Park and Twickenham Rugby Ground. This hotel has a particularly nice gym.
The Castle Hotel, Windsor
The Mercure Castle Hotel sits close to the entrance to Windsor Castle. Some of the rooms look out over the castle walls giving you a toally unique view to wake up to.
Holiday Inn Ariel Heathrow
The Holiday Inn has 180 rooms and is very conveniently located for the airport. They have ‘blackout’ curtains on the windsows and serious double glazing to ensure guests get a good sleep, even if jetlag means you feel like sleeping at odd hours.
Oakley Court Hotel
It is about 3 miles upstream from Windsor town centre so it takes about 20 minutes to drive here from Heathrow, but quite frankly, we think it is worth it. Oakley Court has a lovely riverside garden and the building itself is a quirky mock-gothic mansion seen in horror movies and famously was Dr Frankenfurter’s spooky house in the cult classic Rock Horror Picture Show.
Savill Court
Savill Court is a spectacular Jacobean style mansion set in 22 acres of secluded parkland close to Windsor Great Park. The drive to and from Heathrow is just about 20 minutes but you really feel like you are a world away from the fast pace of international travel. This is an excellent choice if you want to relax, enjoy being pampered and go walking in the royal park.
